Storyline:

Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers have nothing in common except for their terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together, they decide to leave it and do all the things they have ever wanted to do before they die according to their bucket list. In the process, both of them heal each other, become unlikely friends, and ultimately find joy in life.

 

Words:

fundamental: forming or relating to the most important part of something

There's a fundamental difference between these two political parties.

 

foundation: an organization that is created and supported with money that people give in order to do something that helps society

judgmental: tending to judge people too quickly and critically

He's judgmental about everyone except himself.

 

blazing: very hot, fast, or powerful

She runs with blazing speed.

 

majestic: large and impressively beautiful

be onto something: used to say that someone is becoming aware of or is finding something

Scientists believe they are onto something big. [=scientists believe they are close to making an important discovery]

 

propose: to suggest, to plan or intend to do (something) 
▪ They propose to buy a new house. ▪ How do you propose solving this problem?

 

metaphor: a word or phrase for one thing that is used to refer to another thing in order to show or suggest that they are similar

“He was drowning in paperwork” is a metaphor in which having to deal with a lot of paperwork is being compared to drowning in an ocean of water.

 

mezzanine: a small floor that is built between two other floors in a building: (asma kat)

smother: to stop yourself from showing your feelings or from doing an action (boğmak, zaptetmek)

The girls tried to smother their giggles. (kıkırdamak)

 

twisted: seeming to enjoy things that are cruel or shocking, in a way that is not normal: (diğer anlamı bükülmüş)

Whoever sent those letters has a twisted mind.

 

Asymptomatic: if someone or the illness that they have is asymptomatic, the illness has no physical signs

You should continue to take the medication, even when you are asymptomatic. [=even when you do not have any pain or other signs that you are sick]

 

coffin: a box in which a dead person is buried
